One named 2027 reference

The principal reference here is the 2027 Outlander DPS 500 T ABS EMEA specification linked from Can-Am's UK range page. The full name matters: the model library does not combine different Outlander packages into one imaginary vehicle.

The table preserves the year and reference with each group of facts. A next-model-year sheet published in 2026 can be read as documentation without becoming a claim of local stock or immediate tour availability.

The 500 badge and the engine are different numbers

BRP specifies a 650 cc Rotax ACE single for this named 500 reference. The badge is therefore not an exact displacement measurement. This is a concrete example of why an engine-capacity column should come from the technical sheet rather than being inferred from the model name.

The sheet also lists pDrive CVT and tri-mode DPS. One concerns transmission and the other steering assistance. The transmission guide separates those concepts, leaving the actual control arrangement to the correct vehicle documentation.

MAX is a distinct reference

BRP's separate 2027 MAX DPS 700 T ABS sheet lists a longer wheelbase and a removable passenger seat. Its 1,535 mm wheelbase differs from the 1,345 mm of the non-MAX 500 reference shown here. That is a physical distinction, not merely a decorative suffix.

Keep the two sheets separate. This dossier does not borrow the MAX's seating description or dimensions to complete the standard model's table. The standard sheet does not explicitly state a person-capacity count, so no passenger approval is inferred from it.

Treat the mass footnote as part of the figure

The manufacturer calls the mass estimated dry weight and attaches a base-model footnote. That qualification belongs with the number. It should remain visible when the figure is copied into an ownership note or comparison.

The library's summary table therefore compares selected dimensions, engine and transmission information, and fuel capacity, while leaving differently defined mass figures in their full dossiers. A tidy ranking made from unlike definitions would be less informative.

Read published conflicts as unresolved items

The selected materials contain wording or conversion issues that are not needed to describe this reference reliably. This dossier omits the disputed differential/ABS wording and the MAX's inconsistent length presentation, rather than extending them into advice.

The useful habit is to retain the exact source and resolve the actual vehicle's documentation before using a disputed figure for a practical decision. A gap in an editorial table is preferable to quietly selecting whichever value fits an expectation.

Connect the description to a real choice

For an owner, start with the full year, package and market, then obtain the corresponding documentation and independent condition assessment where needed. For a holiday visitor, the important reference is the machine actually supplied, with a suitable briefing and approved seating arrangement.

The specification guide explains how to organise the measurements. The used-buying guide connects the description to evidence and ownership costs. No reliability, performance or sales ranking is claimed from these product sheets.
